Whole-Home Repiping in Buda & Kyle, TX
Brown water that never clears. Pinhole leaks in three different rooms. Low pressure everywhere. Those are the signs of a system at the end of its life — and in this corridor, repiping is one of the most common big jobs we do.
The corridor's two repipe stories
Older Kyle. The ranch homes near downtown Kyle and the Plum Creek bottomlands — built from the 1960s through the 1990s — carry polybutylene ("polybutel") or aging copper. Polybutel was the go-to budget pipe of the '80s and '90s and it's past its design life; insurers increasingly refuse to cover homes with it. If your home dates to that era and you've had more than one leak, a repipe conversation is overdue.
New construction. The flip side of the growth boom: some newer Buda–Kyle homes went up with thin-wall copper or rushed PEX runs that develop pinholes in our aggressive Edwards Aquifer water (15–18 gpg in Kyle's own water report). Pinhole in the wall behind the kitchen? Second one in the laundry? The problem is the pipe, not the patch — and we quote repipes for these homes more often than you'd expect.
PEX or copper?
Most corridor repipes land on PEX-A: it handles our soil movement and hard water better than rigid pipe, it's quieter, and it typically costs 30–40% less than copper. Copper is still the right call for some homes — exposed runs, certain code situations, or owner preference — and we'll walk you through the trade-offs honestly. Either way, the quote includes drywall patching, texture, and paint so you're not hiring a second crew.
What a repipe week looks like
- Day 1: walkthrough, fixture map, and protection of floors and furniture
- Days 1–2: new lines run, usually through the attic; water back on each evening
- Day 3: tie-offs, fixture reconnects, pressure test, and full operation check
- Days 3–4: drywall patching, texture, and paint — most homes need only one room fully opened at a time
You stay in the house for most of it, and we keep at least one bathroom running every night.
